So let’s go to the process of building an android app without coding.

How to create an android app without coding using AppsGeyser

I will start from scratch by going to the website and creating my account on it. The homepage of the website is very exciting to look at and scroll through it.

As you click on Create Now for Free you will be given different kinds of a category of apps that you can create with it.

There are many types of templates for app creation such as PDF tab, messenger, website, browser, manual, twitter, video downloader, flappy, quiz, YouTube, pedometer, photo editor, travel guide, runner game, augmented reality shooter, matching puzzle, media player, book reader, find the pair, page, web app, music, wallpaper, Facebook page, news topics, 2048, converter, spin the bottle, fishing, fall down, mobile tv and blog

These are all types of templates that are available on this website.

Decide the types of app that you want to create and select on it. Here I am selecting a website to create an app for my website.

After you choose your template, it will take to some pre-setup of your app. There are four sections like App setting, app name, Description, and Icon

These are by default set up for any app that you want to create.

App Setting

In the app setting, you will have to give the URL of your website if you are creating an app for your website.

You give the URL and when you click on go, it will automatically grab information from your site to suggest you typical templates from your site content.

You can skip the content detection process by selecting the next button below.

In this section, you are provided with the color theme to select. There is a different predefined color theme to choose from. You can also create your own customized color theme.

As you are ready to go ahead click on Next.

App Name

In this section, you just give the name of your app. In my case, I am giving Kumar Janglu as it is the name of my website and app name.

As has been said “What’s in the name” but I must say “Everything is in the name”. So wisely choose the name of your app.

This section is about a brief description of your app. If you have chosen the website type of app and clicked on Go after providing the URL, it will automatically take the description of your app from your website that you have given on your website.

In my case, it is taking the description from my website automatically by AppsGeyser.

In this section, you can give the icon for your app. If you have your own icon that you may want to use then click on the Custom Icon radio button and select from your location where you have stored it. It should be in the square form.

As we have analyzed the pre-setup process, now click on Create to go into the more editing part of the app.

But before going further, you will be asked to create an account on AppsGeyser. But don’t bother, there is an option to sign up through Facebook or google. You can select from those options to sign up if you don’t have an account.

After you register and sign in to the account you will see the Edit option as following where you can edit your app in three levels like Basic, Tabs, and Advanced.

In Basic, you can change the options that you have selected at the time of creating the app.

The Tabs option allows you to add new tabs to increase the content amount in your app.

The Advanced tab allows you to fine-tune your app uniqueness.

The whole process of editing will take roughly around 20-30 minutes on customization and if you create the app that is actually an exciting app, it can enhance the chance of the success of your app.

Click on Edit to go further.

In the Editing option, we will discuss in detail more about three options like Basic, Tabs, and Advanced.

As you can see, the Basic tab contains options like app settings, app name, app version, description and icon that we have already discussed in the pre-setup stage.

Here we have a new term i.e. App Version that we need to increase if you are publishing the app update to google play store. We have given here 1.0 for starting purpose.

If you want any change or modification in basic settings, you can do it and click on Save.

This tab gives something interesting features to add to our app. It allows us to provide more content to the app. This tab looks something like the following.

I will add content like a blog to my website app. To add that click on AddTab.

After clicking on Add Tab, it will give us options to add what we want to add to our app as shown in the following:

Let’s click on Blog to add it to our app. After it has been added it gives us many options to edit as shown in the following.

I will add my blogger blog to the app, so I select the Blogger Blog from the blog type. Then we will give the URL of the blog. You should give it here yours if you have.

Then there is an option named Enable push notifications which if you tick will allow your users to get notified automatically about any new post that you write on your blog. It helps you keep in touch with your audience. But it may be kept in mind that it takes up to 2 hours to deliver the notification to the device.

You can check if you want to.

In the Appearance settings, you can change the color theme of the blog to be shown on the app that you are creating.

And in the last step give some caption or name to this item in the Tab list. After we add the blog tab and click on Submit, the next page will look like this.

You can add other content to your app in order to enrich your app, but here I am not adding anything more.

The Tabs tab also contains some of the navigation tools that you can use to build some user experience in your app. Let’s have some look at those.

There are three types of navigation features available in the AppsGeyser like Tabs, slider and Homepage.

If you select Tabs, navigation elements are tabs and are located in the top or bottom of your app.

If you select slider, navigation elements are located in a special area to the left of the screen as shown in the image below.

And if you select the Homepage, navigation elements are located on the main page of your app.

After having all the customization of the Tabs tab like adding more content to the app and adjusting the navigation, click on Save to proceed further.

The advanced tab allows you to add screenshots of your app. You might be thinking what is the use of the screenshots.

You might have installed apps from the Google play store where you search for an app and you see the screenshots of that app given below. This feature is useful for those who are going to use your app.

Hence you can add some of the screenshots of your app here that will be displayed on app’s download page and can be used when submitting the app to Google’s Android Market.

App’s Menu type

The menu types that are provided here are two. One is a slider and the other is Action Bar for Android 3.0 above.

Private Appsgeyser App

Private Appsgeyser app is those which are not visible in Appsgeyser and you can only distribute it by sharing a secret link with whom you want to share the app.

There are different kinds of permissions that your app may ask for to the user of the app and the permissions that it can ask are as shown in the image below. You pick whatever you want to give to your app.

Open all links in the default browser

There may be some links like in my case in the app and when someone wants to click, the app will either open the link within the app or the link can be opened in a browser that you can select by default.

The option offered in the Advanced tab allows you to select the options like Yes, No or only external links to open links. The following image shows it.

Rate My App

You can add the feature of rating your app and get the feedback from the user by selecting the Yes option in Rate My App option. This feature can be added to app Menu and the user can rate the app depending upon their experience of using it.

Add Refresh Button

There may be a time when you have something updated on your website or blog and the app is not showing that update and in this case, the user can miss the updated post.

Hence giving a Refresh button can really be helpful for the user for a better experience and for you also.

Select Yes or No to add the button to the app menu.

Setting Button

If you want to show the user the setting button in your app menu, then select Yes otherwise select No.

Link to be shared

You have the Share button in your app when you need to configure which link you want to share when that share button is clicked on the app. So give the desired link to be shared.

Action when Loading a File

When your app contains some files and when the user clicks the link then what should be the action? Whether it will be automatically opened or downloaded or let users decide the action.

There are other options that you can explore to enrich the app user experience. The following image will show you all the options that are available in the Advanced tab.

After you complete all the settings that you desire to add to your app, click on Submit to complete the process of app building without coding.

How to Save and Use the app

After learning how to create an android app without coding, now is the time to save or publish your app that we have been building for a long time.

Click on the Publish menu from the left side of the windows. Here you have many options that can be used to publish your app to different markets. You can also download it to your Smartphone and use it in your phone.

If you want to publish the app to the Google Play Store, you can by following the tutorial given here.

If you don’t want to publish to any market and just want to download and install it in your phone then scroll down to the bottom of the website where you will find the section Place small QR code Widget and scan the QR code using your phone.

Your phone will display a link that will download the .apk format of the app. You can also embed the QR code to your website if you want to grow your audience of the website through your newly created app.
